TITLE:   FULL TIME CNA INSTRUCTOR

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Plan and implement programs for student’s training to become Nursing Assistants; also to teach the skills and knowledge needed to obtain professional certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Registered Nurse/Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

2. State of Virginia license

3. Must be willing to maintain current knowledge of changes in state and federal regulations regarding Nursing

4. Willing to obtain a teaching license through the Virginia Department of Education

What was the first feeling you had when you attended ANTC? Excitement

What words of wisdom do you have for other students? Take your time and learn as much as you can

What brought you to ANTC? I wanted to explore the world of cosmetology, it seemed interesting to me.

What is your dream job? The dream job for me would be nursing, because I like helping people.

What is your favorite class that you have taken so far? Why? My favorite class I have taken is Math, I am strong in the subject and I enjoy it!

What is the best advice you have been given by your instructor at ANTC? We are a Team! We Leave no one behind!

What was the first feeling you had when you attended ANTC? I was excited to try some new things!

What words of wisdom do you have for other students? The word of wisdom I give the students is to never lose focus on the goals and dreams.

What is your dream job? Owning a facility that houses different animals to care for.

What is your favorite class that you have taken so far? Why? Medical Assisting, because it always keeps my attention and is interesting.

What is the best advice you have been given by your instructor at ANTC? It is okay to make mistakes, it's part of being a human.

What is your favorite memory at ANTC? Choosing a disease and having my classmates diagnose me.

What was the first feeling you had when you attended ANTC? I was nervous. I only knew one person, but that feeling faded quickly.

What words of wisdom do you have for other students? Take a class at ANTC. Regardless what program it is, Auto Body, Cosmetology, or Medical Assisting all of the teachers really care for all of the students, not just the ones in their program.

What is your dream job? I want to be a Weapons Specialist for the Army.

What is your favorite class that you have taken so far? Why?

Auto Body is my favorite class because you learn real world information.

What is the best advice you have been given by your instructor at ANTC? “If it's not broke, don't fix it.”

What is your favorite memory at ANTC? Taking the parade car apart and having a cookout.

What was the first feeling you had when you attended ANTC? Nervous!

What words of wisdom do you have for other students? Never stop trying till you succeed.

What is your dream job? I plan to become an Anesthesiologist.

What is your favorite class that you have taken so far? Why? Medical Assistant, it gets me one step closer to my dream job.

What is the best advice you have been given by your instructor at ANTC? Follow my dream, no matter what happens.

What is your favorite memory at ANTC? My favorite memory is how nice and welcoming everyone is at ANTC.

What was the first feeling you had when you attended ANTC? At first I was nervous, but after the first day, I loved it.

What words of wisdom do you have for other students? My advice is even when you feel nervous about trying something new, go for it, give it your all, and don't give up!

What is your dream job? General Surgeon (Trauma Unit)

What is your favorite class that you have taken so far? Why? Medical Assistant because I’ve got to interact with medical professionals and really test my abilities in the medical field.

What is the best advice you have been given by your instructor at ANTC? You’re going to be great, just try your hardest.

What is your favorite memory at ANTC? Almost every day was fun, but my favorite memory has to be when we finally got the dummy arms and practiced taking blood.

What was the first feeling you had when you attended ANTC? Will I do good in this class?!

What words of wisdom do you have for other students? Take your time and try your hardest. You might not like it at first, but if you keep pushing through it will definitely be worth it in the end.

What brought you to ANTC? I’ve always had a desire to be in the medical field, so when I found out I could become a medical assistant through ANTC, I went for it!

What is your dream job? To become a Registered Nurse

What is your favorite class that you have taken so far? Why? English, because I love to write.

What is the best advice you have been given by your instructor at ANTC? To never give up and to ask questions.

What is your favorite memory at ANTC? Learning Phlebotomy

What was the first feeling you had when you attended ANTC? I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to do my best or learn everything within the 2-year time frame.

What words of wisdom do you have for other students? Be patient, ask for help, and never give up!
